The Zinzania Acquatica wild rice grasses for The Room were gathered along a tributary of the Powder River for its first installation at the UCross Foundation in Wyoming druing a 6-week residency. Densely woven garlands of grass sweeping over chair and table forms created a magic carpet in sharp contrast to the Foundation’s manicured lawn, resulting in visitors suddenly playfully frolicking while encouraging them to consider how the wild grasses offer an ecologically-attuned, psychological sanctuary.
