Ahni Rocheleau’s exhibition “Earth Visions and Psychological Sanctuary” in 1991 with such artworks as Invitation to Planting, Plant Corn Seeds,” and Motor Oils and Medicinals pinpoints her first recognition of the plant world as psychological sanctuary. AS220 is an Alternative Space in Providence, Rhode Island founded on the principle that freedom of expression is crucial for the development of strong communities and individual spirits, and providing an unjuried and uncensored forum for the arts through the maintenance of residential and work studios, galleries, performance and educational spaces.
